We are looking for Precinct Chairs and Secretaries for the caucuses. The precincts will be assigned to various classrooms. People should enter through the South parking lot (convention center entrance). The responsibility for leaders for the night is to show up at 6 (or a little before) and check people in using VAN (or if you don't have a VAN account, you'll be given a mini-VAN account and training). Then at 7, lead (or help lead) your precinct caucus. In addition to the training offered by the Iowa Democratic Party below, R.R.S. Stewart, Dubuque County Democrats First Vice-Chair, will offer a training before the January Central Committee meeting on 1/13/26. The speaker will be, Ryan Peterman, a former Naval officer and native of the Quad Cities who is running for Iowa Secretary of State. After graduating from the Naval Academy, he earned his Wings of Gold as a Navy helicopter pilot, deployed overseas, and had the privilege of leading some of the finest young sailors in the fleet. After his deployment, Ryan went on to serve as a defense fellow for US Senator Jeanne Shaheen, working on national security and defense policy. Now, he's running for Secretary of State to restore honor and integrity to the office, protect our right to vote, and help support small businesses across Iowa.

There will be a table with petitions just inside the door to the dashatorium--the door under the overhang off the driveway. Swing by Lacy Mansion for our convenient drive-thru petition signing in support of our Democratic candidates!  You can come up the steps to the door or call/text 612-501-9747 to ask that the petitions be brought down the steps to you if you need a more accessible option. It's quick, easy, and a great way to help ensure our candidates are on the ballot.
